Prismatic cell: The shell is designed with the same steel shell or aluminum shell as the cylindrical cell, which has the advantage of being easy to pack, which is a compromise in the current market, because the manufacturing difficulty is not high, and the degree of automation is higher than that of the pouch cell, and it is easy to produce on a large scale to reduce the cost of industrial manufacturing and is favored by the market.
Pouch cell: The shell is encapsulated by an aluminum-plastic composite film, which has the characteristics of flexible, flat and bag-like design. This is the safest and highest energy density lithium battery to date. Pouch cells can be molded into a variety of shapes, making them highly adaptable to irregular spaces and unconventional designs.
The internal electrochemical principles of these three battery routes are the same, and the material composition is basically the same, but the packaging form and shape characteristics of the batteries are different, and the appropriate battery cells need to be selected according to the products of the final application.
