A few days ago, we received an inquiry from a customer in California who was looking for a custom power battery solution for his UTV project.
At first, like many customers, he only had a rough idea:
“48V lithium battery, high capacity, suitable for off-road vehicles.”
But in reality, that’s far from enough to design a reliable battery system.
So instead of rushing into pricing, I replied with a simple message:
Hi, to recommend the most suitable battery solution for your project, could you please confirm the following details?
- Application (boat / RV / solar / forklift / golf cart / ATV / UTV / other?)
- System voltage (12V / 24V / 48V?)
- Required capacity (Ah or kWh)
- Max continuous / peak discharge current (if known)
- Battery installation space (L × W × H or photo)
- Charger needed? (Yes / No / type preference)
- Connector type (bolt / Anderson connector)
- Shipping preference (DDP door-to-door / EXW / CIF)
- Charging current / time requirements
- Any special requirements (IP rating, low-temperature use, CAN communication, etc.)
After receiving this information, things became much clearer.
He confirmed the battery would be used for a UTV with high starting current requirements. The installation space was limited, and the system needed to handle short bursts of high power during acceleration.
He also mentioned that the battery would be used outdoors, so durability and protection level were important.
At this stage, instead of sending a price immediately, we did something more important:

This included:
- Battery configuration (48V system with optimized capacity)
- Recommended BMS (high current protection)
- Suggested connector type for his vehicle
- Shock absorption protective measures
- Waterproof and dustproof rating

Once we sent the diagram, we asked him one more simple question:
“Do you have any additional requirements or concerns before we finalize the design?”
This step is often overlooked—but it is critical.
Because any missing detail at this stage can turn into a problem later.
After the customer confirmed everything, we moved forward with:
- Final quotation (clear structure, no hidden costs)
- Order confirmation
- Production scheduling
From there, our factory began manufacturing according to the confirmed specifications.
